Physician Burnout Begins in Medical School

Physician Burnout Begins in Medical School

Every year, 300-400 physicians in the United States die by suicide. That is the equivalent of losing two large graduating medical school classes per year, an appalling statistic and a real tragedy, not only for the doctors themselves, but also their families,...

Why You Need a Coach

To recover from burnout, you need to make some changes in your life. That begins with changing how you see and think about things, so you can come up with creative solutions to your problems. So why can’t you do this on your own? The simple answer is you could, but few people ever do, no matter how many self-help books they read. That’s because the main obstacles are your unconscious limiting beliefs and emotions which derail you on your way to living a balanced and fulfilling life.

Coaches are trained to see those unconscious obstacles in your life and to listen deeply and ask questions that allow you to see them too. Then, with the support of your coach, you can come up with solutions that fit your unique needs, desires and abilities.

What is Coaching?

Coaching is the most effective technology to help you envision and reach your goals, overcome obstacles and develop confidence and leadership skills. A coach acts as a sounding board, thought partner and accountability partner to their client. Every client is unique, with their own history, experiences, and personal strengths and weaknesses. For that reason there is no “one-size-fits-all” solution or pathway to the client’s goals. The coach is trained to ask questions that generate new ideas and insights, allowing the client to see a clear way forward and to maximize their personal and professional potential.

Coaching has proven its value in the business world from the level of solo entrepreneurs to enormous corporations like Google and Apple. In business the ROI of executive coaching is often measured by increased productivity and sales and typical results range from an ROI of 150% to over 500%! The results of career and life coaching are more difficult to measure but clients typically report improved job satisfaction, better relationships and better work-life balance.
